Excerpt:
Professor Sparling is so out of my league.  What he could he possibly see in me?  But he sees something, obviously, because he reached out to me, and I don’t want to lose his interest.  What I feel for him is pure passion and I’m exploding with it.  Of all the intense emotions I’ve

experienced in life– rage, fear, depression and frustration – this passion is the only one that’s felt impossible to contain.

My hands are shaking as I type: Professor Sparling, I wanted to impress you because I’m drawn to you.

If only I could write just how drawn I am to him.  But that would come across either way too romantic, or way too forward.  It’s not like I can just write to my professor that I spent half of the time in his classes thinking about either kissing him for two hours straight, or unzipping his pants. I can’t even say that I’ve been waiting fourteen weeks for him to really notice me. But most of all, I can’t tell him that he’s the one I believe can lead me out of the dark places where all I feel are shame and grief.  I want to end my internal ache, push the pain away, and live the life of a normal college student.  College years are supposed to be carefree, but I haven’t gone to any parties. I never even go out for dinner unless the Harts invite me over to Ottawa Estate, or Henry drags me somewhere.  All I’ve wanted to do at Addison is be at home alone with my cats.  My most social activity is watching movies with Henry.  This little online flirty exchange, though, is giving rise to the part of me that has been totally shut down.  Apparently along with the sadness inside my body lives a full-fledged diva, and these emails are waking her up like a kiss from Prince Charming.  The diva’s voice is nothing like that of my withdrawn, anti-social persona who always dresses in gray and thinks she can’t compete with the Melanies of the world.

I stare at my computer screen waiting for a reply.  It comes within seconds.

Sydney, Please call me Paul.  And tell me, to which part of me are you drawn?

Call him Paul?  No way.  I can’t think of him as Paul.  Not yet, at least.  Part of the appeal, after all, is the fact that he’s my professor.  I bet he’d like it if I dressed up as a schoolgirl in a teeny pleated, plaid skirt.  I’m sure he would teach me a lesson or two!

I can’t believe this is happening.  I am flirting with Professor Paul Sparling, man of my dreams, or at least man of my sexual fantasies.  I wished for this a million times, but I never expected it to come true.   And I never imagined it would begin with email.

Lauren Blakely should get a trophy!

This woman is an AMAZING author. I just got done ready Trophy Husband, and it was the perfect read for my evening! I laughed so hard in a few parts, I thought I was going to wake my baby up. So before I give you more about what I think of it, I will give you the synopsis.

Trophy Husband:

A sexy new romance from Bestselling Author Lauren Blakely...

Sometimes you can't help falling in love, even when you try to do the opposite...Successful fashion blogger McKenna Bell has spent far too long protecting herself after the way her ex-fiancé left her at the altar for a college chick he met the night of his bachelor party. Loving again, trusting again, well, that's just not in the cards. Especially now that her ex is back in town with his new woman, demanding custody of McKenna's favorite creature in the whole world--her dog. No effing way. McKenna's had enough of him, and she decides to even the score by finding her own hot young thing -- a Trophy Husband. Sure, she's only twenty-seven, but doesn't that make it even more fun -- and infuriating to her ex -- to pursue a younger man? When she declares her intentions on her daily blog, her quest quickly skyrockets in popularity, and that's when Chris enters the picture, and he's got all the assets. He's handsome, successful, and turns her inside out with a kiss to end all kisses, the kind that makes you feel like a shooting star. But loving again could mean losing again, and it's so much easier to focus on getting even, isn't it? Unless, you just can't help falling in love. Which means McKenna will have to come face to face with what she really wants in life -- protecting her heart from hurt, or letting go of her fears of a new beginning.

Recommended for 17+ due to sexual content.

Okay, so here's the deal. McKenna wakes up ready to walk down the aisle with Todd whom she thinks is the love of her life, just to listen to a voicemail from him saying that he changed his mind and eloped with someone else the night before. Her world is turned upside down, understandably, but a year later she believes that she is finally moving on. Until one day she goers into her favorite diner for her weekly breakfast there and in walks her ex with his new wife. Things just go from bad to worse when they announce that they just had a baby girl and named her what McKenna and Todd were going to name their daughter when they had one. McKenna decides that if her ex can dump her for someone 6 years younger than her, then she can claim herself a younger man. From there on out she starts the search for a trophy husband.

While starting this quest she meets Chris, who happens to be a very hot gamer, and they get to talking. He offers to repair her poor ruined camera, and that is the start of a beautiful friend/business/courtship. McKenna soon can not go an hour without thinking about Chris and starts to compare him to other guys. She can't get him out of her head and is starting to think that she doesn't want to either.

I'm trying not to give too much away that wasn't in the synopsis, but it's soo good that it's hard not to go into full detail. So I am going to leave that where it is and just say that if you go and read this book you will not be disappointed. I love Lauren Blakely's work and I can't read to read more of her work!

Author Bio:

What the hell is up y'all?! I'm Kimber, and I really freaking hope y'all enjoy AWGM! If you get a chance, throw me a review up on my FB page, www.facebook.com/AWGMbyKimberDawn or Goodreads if you loved it! I am a whore for reviews.
Ahh... let's see, what can I tell you about my self... Well, first of all I'm a straight up whore for many, many things. I'm a wine whore, some would say I'm a functional alcoholic, and I'm totally cool with that title. Now the day my cheese completely falls off my cracker and I lose the functional in that title, well yeah never mind. Even then I'll deny that shit. I'm a whore for Victoria's Secret, no seriously, like my VS Angel's Credit Card stays maxed out, hey, they got cool shit. I have a whole lot of hats, meaning I can be called a billon different things, daughter, wife, mother, labor unit nurse, I sell pussy on the side *coughs* that would be persian kittens, thank you you dirty minded scoundrel, I'm also compulsive blackjack addict, book blogger, book pimp, book whore, Jack Daniels is my favorite boyfriend and my biggest dream, the day I'll acknowledge that I've succeeded in life and can a die a happy woman is the day I get to go two stark naked hour round sexual bouts with Jason Statham. *Sighs* I started writing poems and short stories very early in my life, you know for the Michael's and Leo's and Nick's in my life. I've been a book hoarder since I was eleven years old, but then a couple years ago something wonderful happened! The 50 shades of Grey craze brought to life my inner smut whore where I commenced to read anything and everything smut affiliated. When reading wasn't enough any anymore and I noticed that so many of the authors of my favorite books weren't getting the exposure their work deserved I turned it into a mission, starting my own blog, buying their books and reading them one by one, I then wrote my reviews for my blog and didn't hold back in writing them. I've never done a single thing in my life half way, I always go all in. After the success of my Blog, and the insistence of one of my bestest friends, my sister from another mister, Trina Taylor of Bad & DirtyBooks I was ready to finally take the plunge and write the story that's been restlessly clawing to get out of my head and onto paper for a VERY long time. I'm a southern girl to my core, a self proclaimed smut whore, and I guess now we can add aspiring author to my hat collection as well.

***Alluring Turmoil is a second chance love story and is nothing like a love story when strangers /meet.

I started this book with a pretty good idea of how it would play out, thanks to the synopsis and my own romantic heart. Needless to say I was not disappointed! This book had real emotion through out it and you couldn't help but want to devour the book. You kind of get the feeling from the beginning that there was something in the past that Lexi felt she needed to leave Jude for, but that Jude didn't know what the reason was. But it didn't matter when 8 years later he comes back to town and they see each other. Yeah they have a day filled with bitter anger towards each other but they manage to work everything out in their own way, which also helps with some of the sexual tension that surrounds them. ;-) This book was exactly what I needed to get my rock star fix and I can't wait for the next book to come out!

CATCH ME BY CLAIR CONTRERAS (5 Stars!!)

Final blog for the night. I am pretty sure that this is one of the last books that I read this week, and I liked it enough to give it 5 stars! It's Catch Me by Clair Contreras and here is the synopsis!

Catch Me:

In the past, I've always been given everything I've wanted, but nothing that I truly needed. I've experienced a lot of things in my twenty-five years, everything except the one thing I want. It's the one thing that can’t be bought. It can't even be taken, it has to be given. And nobody has ever given it to me, not really anyway.

Not until him.

Music is the center of both our lives, but as he found his place in it, I lost my way. He soared, while I spiraled down a destructive path.
I lost myself in more ways than I can count.

The ironic thing is that I didn’t realize how lost I was until he found me.

And now that he has, I have to wonder if he'll stay around long enough to catch me

Claire is the only daughter of super model mother and CEO music producer father. She was never good enough for her mother, her father was always too busy for her, and she didn't see a whole lot of her brother growing up due to him being older and always in different activities from her. The only person to ever show Claire the type of love she craves is her best friend. But tragedy strikes and then it does Claire, doesn't know how to handle it very well.

Cut to 8 years later and Claire's parents still aren't showing her the love and attention that she would like. However, she is one of the best talent scouts that her father has so he sends her to New York to work at that office trying to find new talent on the east coast. While waiting on her plane to get to the airport, she runs into an old friend and famous singer Shea as well as his new producer Ryan. Claire is immediately attracted to Ryan Shadow) and he seems drawn to her. Shea lets Claire know that he will be in New York soon to work on his album and that they need to talk. Claire agrees to meet up with him when he gets there, not knowing that in a few days her whole world is about to be rocked by Ryan.

Soon her past and her present are going to collide in a way that you never see coming. The twists and heartache that you feel in the book can only come from an excellent author who knows how to pull their readers into the story an make them feel like they are living it themselves. Because of this I gave the book 5 stars and can't wait to see what Mrs. Contreras has coming up next!  Link to buy the book: http://www.amazon.com/Catch-Me-Claire-Contreras-ebook/product-reviews/B00GQ0BCH8/ref=cm_cr_dp_see_all_btm?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending

Broken by Kelly Elliot (5***** Review!)

So another book that I have read in the past week is called Broken by Kelly Elliot. I am really excited to do the review on this book because I really loved it. But you know the drill, I have to do the synopsis so you all can get an idea about what the book was about first.

Broken:
Layton Morris and his brother Mike grew up not knowing what it would be like to live in a normal home. With no running water or electricity in their home, no parents around to protect them, they quickly learned how to survive and depend only on each other.

When a tragic accident takes Mike away from Layton, and the only other person that he ever let into his heart walked away from him, leaving his heart shattered, Layton focuses all of his time and energy into the ranch he and his brother dreamed of. He makes a vow to himself to never let love in again. The last thing Layton needed or wanted was more heartache.

Whitley Reynolds grew up in a privileged home in upstate New York. When she landed the star football player in high school no one was surprised, not even Whitley. She dreamed of a life with Roger living in New York City and happily followed him there.

The first time Roger hit her for arguing with him about a dinner party, she forgave him. The more it happened, the further Whitley withdrew from her friends and family. One fateful day things go to far. Whitley makes a promise to herself and finds the courage to do the one thing she thought she’d never be able to do.

Fleeing with her best friend Courtney, Whitley was determined to put her past behind her and start a new life in the small town of Llano, Texas, where no one would ever find out about her past.

Will they both ever learn to trust and love again, or will their pasts come back to haunt them, keeping them both alone

This book was really amazing. I loved the way that the author was able to put real situations that people face, such as abuse, abandonment, and loss. The story starts out showing Whitley's past and how happy she was to be moving off to the big city with her boyfriend and her convincing her parents to be happy with her not starting college and going to med school. Then the book jump to Layton's past and how he and his brother are trying to survive after losing their mother to cancer and their father taking off and leaving them alone in a house that isn't finished.

It then skips to years later showing Whitley being beaten by her boyfriend. He beats her so bad that she ends up in the hospital. When she wakes up she and her best friend Courtney plan to run away. With the help of her father and Courtney she ends up in Llano Texas where Layton lives. Layton is trying to deal with a major loss, even after 6 months. He is also trying to get over a broken heart. he meets Whitley when her car breaks down near his property. He offers to get her a tow truck and take her to her appointment that she is running late for.

From here Whitley and Layton start a relationship that starts as a love/hate type of thing and quickly progresses to more. The more that they talk and hang out the more they fall in love. When Whitley's ex shows up trying to take her back, Layton comes to her rescue at the risk of his own life. I love the way the progresses and the slight cliffhanger on behalf of Courtney and her love interest leaves you trying to wait patiently for the next book to come out. All in all this is one of the best books I have read this month! That is why I gave it a 5 star rating!

Fixed Series 1 & 2 By Laurelin Paige

This next blog is on another series that I have read recently. It's the fixed series which is Fixed on You and Found in You by Laurelin Paige. These books got a 4.5 star rating from me, and after I give you the Synopsis on each of them I will tell you why.

Fixed on You

Fixed on You is the first book in a trilogy but ends without a cliffhanger. Due to mature material, it is recommended for ages 17+.

Stalking and restraining orders are a thing of Alayna Wither's past. With her MBA newly in hand, she has her future figured out--move up at the nightclub she works at and stay away from any guy who might trigger her obsessive love disorder. A perfect plan. But what Alayna didn't figure on is Hudson Pierce, the new owner of the nightclub. He's smart, rich, and gorgeous--the kind of guy Alayna knows to stay away from if she wants to keep her past tendencies in check.

Except, Hudson's fixed his sights on her. He wants her in his bed and makes no secret of it. Avoiding him isn't an option after he offers a business proposition she can't turn down and she's drawn further into his universe, unable to resist his gravitational pull.

When she learns Hudson has a dark history of his own, she realizes too late that she's fallen for the worst man she could possibly get involved with. Or maybe their less than ideal pasts give them an opportunity to heal each other and finally find the love their lives have been missing.

So as the synopsis says, Alayna has a stalking past that she is trying to forget about and move on from. That is why she separates guys into two different categories, those that are safe for her to get involved with and those that are dangerous for her to even talk to. And she has been doing really well for the past four years. Or at least she was until she met a dangerously hot man, Hudson Pierce, in the club one night. What she doesn't expect is for him to be the new owner of the club she works at.

Hudson Pierce needs Alayna to help get his mom off his back and get him and his good friend out of an arranged marriage. He offers to pay off her student loan debt in order for her to help him out. But that isn't the only thing he is interested in. Hudson doesn't do love because he believes that he is incapable of loving anyone. He believes that events in his past have proven this to him, so all he does is sexual relationships with women after letting them know that it will never be anything more. But for some reason he can't get himself with the program when it comes to Alayna.

I really liked this book because it has the billionaire boyfriend with a past, the seemingly crazy girl who wants more than the guy is willing to give, and people out to make sure the relationship doesn't last. It does end with a cliffhanger, but lucky for everyone book two is available to read right away!

Found in You

Book 2 in the Bestselling Fixed Trilogy. Warning: This book contains mature content and is not recommended for readers under 17.

Alayna Withers has only had one kind of relationship: the kind that makes her obsessive and stalker-crazy. Now that Hudson Pierce has let her into his heart, she's determined to break down the remaining walls between them so they can build a foundation that's based on more than just amazing sex. Except Hudson's not the only one with secrets.

With their pasts pulling them into a web of unfounded mistrust, Alayna turns to the one person who knows Hudson the best--Celia, the woman he almost married. Hoping for insight from someone who understands all sides of the story, Alayna forms a bond with Celia that goes too far--revealing things about Hudson that could end their love for good.

This is the first relationship where Alayna hasn't spiraled out of control. And she might lose Hudson anyway...

Hudson and Alayna are trying to have a real relationship. They are both committed to making this work so why not jump into it with both feet? Alayna moves in with Hudson after an argument with her brother leaves her not having somewhere to live. Hudson wants to make sure that his relationship with Alayna works so he will willing to do anything to make sure that it does. The only thing that he asks for in return is for her to trust him and to NOT talk to Celia without him there. Of course this doesn't happen and it causes Alayna to start keeping secrets from Hudson. And what starts as one secret turns in to more and more until it all starts to unravel.

Everything comes to a head when someone shows up from Alayna's past and Celia makes some serious accusations. Will Hudson and Alayna be able to weather everything that comes at them or will this be another failed relationship for her?

I liked this book because it seemed to show just how serious Hudson was about Alayna, and how he wasn't worried  about her latching on to him. How he actually encouraged it and seemed to crave it because he was latching on to her just as seriously. Crap really hits the fan with what Celia tries to pull, and Hudson doesn't seem to believe Alayna, but he can't live without her so he offers to help her with everything. This book also leaves you on a little cliffhanger, wondering what further proof Alayna's new source comes up with, so hopefully it won't be too much longer until the last book in the trilogy comes out.

Driven & Fueled by K Bromberg

I decided that I am going to start reviewing trilogy book together. At least the ones that are out in the trilogy. Which is why I am reviewing Driven and Fueled by K. Bromberg together. Links to buy books will be listed at the end of the blog. But first the synopsis for Driven!

Driven:
Rylee Thomas is used to being in control. But she’s about to meet the one man that just might make her enjoy losing it…

I am the exception to the rule.

In a world full of willing women, I’m a challenge to the roguish and achingly handsome Colton Donavan. A man used to getting exactly what he wants in all aspects of life. He’s the reckless bad boy constantly skating that razor thin edge toward out of control, on and off of the track.

Colton crashes into my life like a tornado: sapping my control, testing my vulnerabilities beyond their limits, and unintentionally penetrating the protective wall around my healing heart. Tearing apart the world I rebuilt so carefully with structure, predictability, and discipline.

I can’t give him what he wants and he can’t give me what I need. But after a glimpse beneath his refined exterior into the dark secrets of his damaged soul, can I bring myself to walk away?

Our sexual chemistry is undeniable. Our individual need for complete control is irrefutable. But when our worlds collide, is the chemistry enough to bring us together or will our untold secrets and battle of wills force us apart?

Let me just say this first...OMG Colton is one HOT alpha male! Mix that in with his love of racing and his dark past, and you have a Christian Grey worthy male. Rylee certainly has enough problems trying to keep him at bay. She thinks that she can not let another man into her heart after what happened to her two years before. It doesn't matter that when she meets Colton she has an automatic electric attraction to a man that she has never felt before. It only matters that she realizes that he was the one she heard in the hallway at a benefit getting it on with another woman. Fearing that all he wants is another conquest, she walks away from him not knowing that he is about to turn her world upside down. And this book is a great book about the beginning of their story.

Fueled:
What happens when the one person you never expected suddenly happens to be the one you’ll fight the hardest to keep?

Colton stole my heart. He wasn't supposed to, and I sure as hell didn't want him to, but he crashed into my life, ignited feelings within me that I thought had died forever, and fueled a passion that I never knew could exist.

Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet and into my life. Now I don't think I'll ever be the same. She's seen glimpses of the darkness within me, and yet she's still here. Still fighting for me. She is without a doubt the saint, and I am most definitely the sinner.

How is it the one thing neither of us wanted—neither of us anticipated that fateful night—has us fighting so hard to keep?

He steals my breath, stops my heart, and brings me back to life again all in a split second of time. But how can I love a man who won't let me in? Who continually pushes me away to prevent me from seeing the damaged secrets in his past? My heart has fallen, but patience and forgiveness can only go so far.

How can I desire a woman who unnerves me, defies me, and forces me to see that in the deep, black abyss of my soul there's someone worthy of her love? A place and person I swore I'd never be again. Her selfless heart and sexy body deserve so much more than I'll ever be capable of giving her. I know I can't be what she needs, so why can't I just let her go?

We are driven by need and fueled with desire, but is that enough for us to crash into love?

This book starts off right where Driven left off. It is told from mostly Rylee's point of view, but also has some of Colton's point of view in it as well. It goes further into Colton's background and Rylee is determined to be there for him when he finally decides to let someone in. This book is filled with a lot of drama from Colton's past "arrangements" as well as more drama from his childhood friend Tawny. Colton realizes how deep his feelings run for Rylee and he is trying to figure out how he can deal with it. My only problem with this book is the ending...MAJOR cliffhanger!!! I hate that I have to wait so long for the next book to come out.

The Edge of Always 5***** review!

Ok, so I had to go ahead and read the next book in the Edge of Never books. And I am super happy that I did. Not too many times have I been happier that I listened to a friend about a book to read, so once again THANK YOU YARELI!! But anyways The Edge of Always was a wonderful book. Here's the synopsis and then the rest of my review:

When everything falls apart, love remains . . .

THE EDGE OF ALWAYS

Camryn Bennett has never been happier. Five months after meeting on a Greyhound bus, she and her soul mate Andrew Parrish are engaged-and a wedding isn't the only special event in their future. Nervous but excited, Camryn can't wait to begin the rest of her life with Andrew, a man she knows in her heart will love her always. They have so much to look forward to-until tragedy blindsides them.

Andrew doesn't understand how this could happen to them. He's trying to move on, and thought Camryn was doing the same. But when Andrew discovers Camryn is secretly harboring a mountain of pain and attempting to numb it in damaging ways, there is nothing he won't do to bring her back to life. Determined to prove that their love can survive anything, Andrew decides to take Camryn on a new journey filled with hope and passion. If only he can convince her to come along for the ride...

This book starts off a couple of months from where The Edge of Never ended. Camryn and Andrew are together and happy for what life has in store for them. They are still singing in bars and talking about their plans to travel the world and continuing their adventures. Life is really good until they go back to visit Camryn's mom. Then tragedy strikes and Camryn ends up back like she was when Andrew met her on the Greyhound. Andrew knows that Camryn is hurting but she won't talk about what happened. She is insistent on forgetting it ever happened. But that all changes when he finds out that she started taking pain pills. Once he confronts her about the pills, he decides that what she really needs to help heal is to face her past and get back on the road.

Once Andrew is able to get Camryn to break through her walls that she has around her past, she is able to confront all the painful stuff that she has had happen to her over the last few years. Once she was able to do that her healing process can begin. And in order to help her, Andrew decides that they are going to stay on the road until she feels like she is ready to settle down. They take up odd jobs here and there, sing in bars every now and then, and face some unexpected troubles with tow trucks and friendly strangers. But everything they face, they do so with each other and they come out stronger than ever.

I really loved this book. I actually had to read through it twice in order to feel that I got everything I could out of it. I loved the way that Andrew supported Camryn through everything and knew just what to do to help her to heal. Unconditional love is something I love to read about and you can just feel it by the words that authors use. Mrs. Redmerski did a wonderful job with these two books. I really hope that she decides to write a book for Lily, but I know that I will be looking for more of her books in the future no matter what!

The Edge of Never

Hey everyone! I just got done reading an AMAZING book. If you can't tell by the title of this blog, it's The Edge of Never by J. A, Redmerski! I absolutely LOVED this book, but before I tell you why, I want to give the synopsis of the book.

Synopsis:
Sometimes life takes you off course . . .

THE EDGE OF NEVER

Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett thought she knew exactly where her life was going. But after a wild night at the hottest club in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, she shocks everyone-including herself-when she decides to leave the only life she's ever known and set out on her own. Grabbing her purse and her cell phone, Camryn boards a Greyhound bus ready to find herself. Instead, she finds Andrew Parrish.

Sexy and exciting, Andrew lives life like there is no tomorrow. He persuades Camryn to do things she never thought she would and shows her how to give in to her deepest, most forbidden desires. Soon he becomes the center of her daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But there is more to Andrew than Camryn realizes. Will his secret push them inseparably together-or destroy them forever?

Ok, so I have been putting off reading this book for a couple of months, since one of my friends told me about it (Thanks Yareli!!) Now that I have actually read the book, I REALLY wish I hadn't put it off this long. I really loved the story and both Andrew and Camryn were GREAT characters. I fell in love with Andrew the first time I read his point of view in the book, and it just got better and better as the book progressed.

Andrew and Camryn met on a bus going across country. Camryn was on the road to nowhere while Andrew was off to Wyoming to see his dad. Andrew noticed on of the other passengers eyeing Camryn, and decided to take her protection into his own hands. When it came time for them to go in their different directions, both of them were reluctant to leave, but Andrew needed to see his dad. I don't want to put any real spoilers in here, but Andrew ends up saving Camryn from a very bad situation and from that point on they are on the road to wherever together. They drive across country in Andrew's dads car. Camryn fights her feelings, but ends up falling in love with Andrew. When they make is back to his home in Texas, Camryn knows something is wrong, but Andrew won't tell her what it is. But he can't keep it secret for long!

For any of my friends who know me, I like a lot of books. But this has to be one of the BEST books that I have read all year long. I would recommend it to everyone! I can not wait to get started on the next book in the series, The Edge of Always! So please go out and get The Edge of Never and see what I am talking about!

Never Close Enough, First Kiss, and Trouble

So I finished that 6th book that I was reading....It was Never Close Enough by Anie Michaels. But since I still have to do reviews on the other two book I didn't from last post I will start with them. Really hard because all three of these books were AMAZING! But to start with I will go with First Kiss by Tara Brown.

Be prepared to be wowed as this YA fairytale takes on forms you can't even imagine and pulls you into the roughest ride yet from the bizarre imagination of Tara Brown! Erralynn Lake is not your average girl. She has talent, beauty, a kind nature, and a sweet disposition. But that's not who Erralynn Lake is. Who she is can be summed up in one word-cursed. The Lake's of Lakeland are not only famous for founding the small town, but also killing off any man who would dare love them. When summer break hits and the town starts to fill with all the returning friends who had left for college, she believes it will be a great summer vacation. One filled with the possibility of love, even if it is at a distance. But she couldn't be more wrong. Because as the unlikely cold wind blew into town, it brought with it something wicked.

I love YA books. I know that sounds weird coming from an almost 30 year old, but it's the truth. I can always find something good to read in that section. But this book blew my mind! I found it to be a mind twist while still being a story about a girl who wants a boy that she can't have and then meets another boy who takes her breath away, but is distant for some unknown reason. Throw in a few different fairy tales and you have an idea about what this book is about. It literally has aspects from Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Beauty and the Beast but turned into a modern twist. I can not wait to see what the second book holds!

The next book I want to give an honest review on was Trouble by Samantha Towle. Here is the synopsis of the book:

Mia Monroe is running. Running from a person she doesn’t ever want to find her. Running from a past she doesn’t ever want anyone to know. Desperate to find a future, that yesterday, she could only dream of having.

Jordan Matthews likes easy. Easy women. Easy life.

Then he meets Mia.

She’s damaged, troubled and has more baggage than any person can carry. But the more Jordan gets to know Mia-for the first time in his life-he finds himself wanting to try hard for something … for someone … for her.

And then life isn’t so easy anymore.

Jordan is everything Mia shouldn’t want. A whole bunch of dirty hotness, tattooed, cocky bad boy, who made his money at poker tables and picked his women up in bars. Yet, Mia finds herself falling for him. Then the past Mia was running from, quickly starts to catch up with her. Because that’s the problem with running … you have to stop sometime.

And when you stop, you get caught.

I have to say that this book was a pleasant surprise. The book starts out with the death of someone close to Mia, but she isn't distraught or anything you would assume she would feel. Instead she is very happy. Cut to the first chapter and she finds herself repeating history with her boyfriend and scared to leave him. She finds some unbelievable stuff out about her past and when she wants to talk to him about it, he gets mean. Then he tries the unimaginable and she has to find the strength inside herself to run. She runs all the way to Colorado where she meets Jordan Matthews. Jordan helps run the hotel where she is staying, and offers to help her with her search for the truth when she helps save his dog. Over the course of two weeks they get to know each other better and fall in love, and then reality comes crashing down on them. I thought that while the relationship seemed to be a little fast paced, it was pretty realistic for someone with their backgrounds. I loved the story line and how it played out. I can not wait to see what Samantha Towle has for us in the future.

And last but not least, Never Close Enough by Anie Michaels. Yet again, another great book that I gave an awesome rating of 5 stars for. Synopsis:

The last thing Ella Sinclair needed on her birthday was a cheating boyfriend, a broken heart, and a dead car battery in a remote beach town. At her greatest moment of need, a protective and sexy Porter Masters comes to her rescue. Ella takes a holiday week at the coast to discover herself and finds her attraction to Porter potent and undeniable. Uncertain of their future together, Ella struggles to open her heart to trust again.

Porter Masters takes care of his own: his single mother, his company, and now he’s compelled to protect the beauty that walked into his world. Never one for relationships in his past, Porter discovers that he was waiting all along for Ella. As their time together comes to an end, will Porter fight for the woman who stole his heart? Porter will find a way to keep her, despite the obstacles.

The relationship between Ella and Porter is another that I thought that moved kind of fast paced, especially since she broke up with her boyfriend of several years the morning after she meets Porter. Granted they had been having relationship issues and she caught him cheating on her birthday, but even Ella had issues with how quickly she seemed to be falling for Porter. However, I can not deny the chemistry that Mrs. Michaels was able to portray between Ella and Porter. I was really happy that they had finally gotten everything worked out on how they were going to keep their relationship going while being hours from each other. I wasn't all that surprised with the twist that was waiting when she got home to Portland, but I did have the rug yanked from under me with the turn of events and how the book ended. I can not wait for the next book to come out so I can see how the relationship between Ella and Porter plays.
