Dwellers of Darkness Release day blitz!!

Some days feel like years, but in Ember Brycin’s case just the opposite is true. She had only been in the Otherworld for a day or two when she returned back to the Earth's realm. But it is three years later on Earth. Em is now 22. It would matter if she was human, but she’s not. She is a Dae, part Demon and part Fay, with a little Dark Dweller thrown in to make her even more of a freak.

Seeing Seattle rebuilt only confirms she has been gone three years. For her it was not long ago that the Seattle area was just rubble of concrete and death. All done by her hand.

One thing that hasn’t changed, though, is her undeniable connection to Eli Dragen, who is sexy, gorgeous, and even more volatile and frustrating. But her problems go way past him. The Seelie Queen of the Otherworld still holds Mark, Em’s father, and her friends, Ryan, and Josh as hostages. Em needs to rescue them without, once again, getting caught and being used as a pawn to help the Queen regain possession of Earth. At the same time Ember is in hot water with Lars, the Unseelie King, after breaking her contract with him.

As some secrets have come to light others seem to become even more enigmatic. The only truth Ember knows is,everyone is harboring secrets. As Eli’s past is revealed, Em understands more clearly why he acts the way he does and how much their lives are intertwined. But she also knows Eli is holding something back, something that could change their relationship forever.

Em herself continues to wrestle with her feelings toward Torin and her own secret she’s withholding from Kennedy. As the tension for war mounts between the Seelie and Unseelie (Light and Dark), the tension at the Dark Dweller’s compound mounts even more as they prepare to obtain the sword no matter what the price. But is Ember the answer to the location of the sword? Is she the one to fulfill the prophecy? As usual nothing is ever what it seems.

Stacey Marie Brown by day is an Interior/Set Designer, by night a writer of Paranormal Fantasy, Adventure, and Literary Fiction. She grew up in Northern California, where she ran around on her family’s farm, raising animals, riding horses, playing flashlight tag, and turning hay bales into cool forts. Even before she could write, she was creating stories and making up intricate fantasies. Writing came as easy as breathing. She later turned that passion into acting, living and traveling abroad, and designing. Though she had never stopped writing, moving back to San Francisco seemed to have brought it back to the forefront and this time it would not be ignored.

When she’s not writing she’s out hiking, spending time with friends, traveling, listening to music, or designing.

Darkness of Light

Freak. Witch. Crazy. Schizo.

Ember Brycin has been called them all. She’s always known she’s different. No one has ever called her normal, even under the best circumstances. Bizarre and inexplicable things continually happen to her, and having two different colored eyes, strange hair, and an unusual tattoo only contributes to the gossip about her.

When the latest school explosion lands her in a facility for trouble teens, she meets Eli Dragen, who’s hot as hell and darkly mysterious. Their connection is full of passion, danger, and secrets. Secrets that will not only change her life, but what and who she is—leading her down a path she never imagined possible.

Between Light and Dark, Ember finds a world where truth and knowledge are power and no one can be trusted. But her survival depends on finding out the truth about herself. In her pursuit, she is forced between love and destiny and good and evil, even when the differences between them aren’t always clear. At worst, she will incite a war that could destroy both worlds. At best, she will not only lose her heart but her life and everyone she loves. Once the truth is out, however, there will be no going back. And she’ll definitely wish she could

Fire in the Darkness

It's been four weeks since Ember Brycin witnessed what her powers are capable of. The Electrical Current Storm has turned Seattle, Washington into a natural disaster zone. The death toll is in the thousands with countless others homeless and hungry.

And Ember is the one who caused it. Something she will have to live with every day.

Those people who were unable to escape either turned quickly into gangs or live in shelters. Ember, on the other hand, can’t do either. With a price on her head and a Dark Dweller on her ass, she is constantly on the move. Both Light and Dark are hunting her for their own purpose to use her as a weapon or a pawn in the war between the Unseelie King of the Dark and the Seelie Queen of the Light.

Em needs help but doesn’t know who to trust: Lars, the mystery man Torin told her to find? Torin, the Seelie Queen’s personal knight, who has sworn to keep Em safe? Or Eli, who wants to turn her over to the Unseelie King, but whom she has an undeniable, intense connection with?

No matter what she chooses she will probably lose—her life or everything and everyone she loves.

Teaser Tuesday: The Shadow Prince by Bree Despain

Guest Post: THE SHADOW PRINCE Teaser Tuesday #11 - In which Hubby geeks out all over the place

Hi guys! It's me, Brick.  Bree is on deadline, which means she has pretty much looked like this for the last couple of weeks:
What deadlines feel like...or so I gather...
So, to try to help her out I'm posting this week's Teaser Tuesday.  Which means I get to pick  the teaser.  But first, let me tell you a quick story.

About a year and a half ago, my relatively new (to me anyway) car decided it didn't want to be a car any more.  It decided it'd rather be a cube of metal in a pile of other cubes of metal.
I think that's my car, 2nd from the left, 3rd one up
I had to respect this decision, but I didn't have to like it.  I'll be honest.  I was disappointed.  However, not being one who enjoys being car-less, I picked myself up by my bootstraps, wiped the tears from my eyes, and moved on.  That's when I found this lovely:

Yes, its a Leaf.  Yes, its electric. No, I don't have range anxiety... much.

I was very excited to get a Leaf. Sure, maybe its not the sexiest thing out there, but its still pretty darn cool. Not to mention that my car payment is only slightly more than what my monthly gas budget was--basically making it the cheapest car I've ever owned. And though it has caused us to adjust our lives a little, I've loved having it ever since. But I digress. There is a point to telling you this. So lets get to it.

Bree was still working on THE SHADOW PRINCE when I got the Leaf, and saw this acquisition as a perfect opportunity to conduct some research.  As you may have learned from reading the first two chapters last week (click here if you still haven't... which, btw- WHY NOT?!), Haden has been graced with the ability to throw lighting as part of his Underlordy powers.  So this is the conversation that was had while filling out the paperwork at the dealership:

Salesman: "We're almost done.  Do you guys have any questions?"

Bree: "Yes.  So, if you--hypothetically--could say, I don''t know... shoot lighting out of your hands... could you use that to instantly charge an electric car?"

Salesman: *o.O*

Bree: "Hypothetically of course..."

Brick: *totally straight faced and earnest* "Of course."
Salesman: "Um... yeah, I'm sure you could."

Bree: "Sweet."
I paraphrase of course.

So based off this very scientific research, and knowing that Haden both has said power and needs a much sexier car than me, he was given one of the coolest cars on the planet in THE SHADOW PRINCE.

The Tesla Model S

Holy crap that's a thing a beauty.
Ooh, and take a look inside too.

I can't even....
So not only does Haden get my dream car.  He also gets to drive it like a BAMF while being chased by an unknown assailant on a motorcycle through the streets of Las Vegas.  Oh crap, wait... was that a spoiler?  No.  No, that was just more of the teaser... hehehe, right?  Oh, and I guess it actually wasn't the model S he was driving at the time.  It was this:

Tesla Model X. Yes, he got both. Really, really not fair.
Ok.  Enough car talk.  Its' giveaway talk time  Bree is still giving away an iPad Mini and the opportunity to have a character named after you in the sequel to THE SHADOW PRINCE. Dom Wars Cover Reveal!!

Dom Wars Cover Art

Dom Wars Round One

By Lucian Bane

Release Date March 1, 2014

Lucian Bane's inner Dom is out of control and hungry for things he can't name. When he signs up for Dom Wars, he meets Tara who is naive to the BDSM world. Her reckless dominance and puritan heart fascinate him. But when he discovers the pain in her past, it unleashes his true Dom within.

Author Bio

I'm an Ineffable Dom. That just means, do yourself a favor and please don't try to describe me or fit me into your categories. Complicated Dom, Intricate Dom, Confounding Dom work too.

I love very much the soft side of a woman. Not just her body, but everything on the inside-- her passion, her intelligence, her convictions, her delicate tenderness. But the one fetish that might be a part of what makes me an Ineffable Dom is that I love her strengths. I love a woman that isn’t afraid to look me in the eyes and say ‘make me’.  But I need it to be real, not staged, not pretended. She has to be a fighter at her core the way I’m a Dom at my core. I want an equal that is willing to come hard against me in every sense of the word, exhaust me. I want her so deep inside me that we’re lost in each other. I want her to never doubt that I will always use my power to adore her, protect her, liberate her. I don’t want a woman I can break, or overpower, or exercise my dominance over, I want a woman I can come undone with. I want a woman I can jump off the cliff with into that abyss of holy hell, this is beyond me, beyond my control. The greatest fear of most people is losing themselves or unravelling their roots. My greatest fear is not finding a woman I can take that plunge with. Yes, it’s a huge risk. That’s the yin and the yang of it. And while the risk titillates my Dom, it’s the ineffable fruit of that risk that moves him. He knows he has to have it. He knows he’s supposed to have. And he’s prepared to dominate for it.

I think there are many men like myself, and I hope my writing will be a map for them. A map for women as well, to let them know Doms like this exist. I’d like to call them out of the woodwork. Help men join with their natural inner Doms in a way that I think is one of the most fulfilling experiences there are. I want to challenge them all to go for the complete power exchange with a woman, but don’t be a coward and not give the same that they demand or expect. And consider that when you give one hundred percent of yourself to a person, there is no more of you to give away. You now belong to them the way they belong to you.

Inner Doms are dogs that need a master to train them. I once bowed to my Dom's reckless and tireless desires, but when I gained control, he bowed to my will. The transformation made me into what I am today. What many would call an Ineffable Dom. But its equal term in the Vanilla world, in my opinion, is a real man.

Death of the Body by Rick Chiantaretto

I grew up in a world of magic. By the time I was ten I understood nature, talked to the trees, and listened to the wind. When the kingdom of men conquered my town, I was murdered by one of my own—the betrayer of my kind. But I didn't stay dead.

I woke to find myself in a strange new world called Los Angeles. The only keys to the life I remembered were my father’s ring, my unique abilities, and the onslaught of demons that seemed hell-bent on finding me. Now I must find out who I really am, protect my friends, and get back to my beloved hometown of Orenda.

Meet Rick Chiantaretto

Author Bio:

I've often been accused of having done more in my life than the average person my age, but if I were completely honest I'd have to tell you my secret: I'm really 392.
So after all this time, I'm a pretty crappy writer.
I have one book published but out of print, one coming out soon, and a bunch half written (when you have eternity, where's the reason to rush?). I've been favorably reviewed by horror greats like Nancy Kilpatrick, and my how-to-write-horror articles have been quoted in scholarly (aka community college freshmen's) papers.
I enjoy the occasional Bloody Mary, although a Bloody Kathy or Susan will suffice.
Mostly, I just try to keep a low profile so people don't figure out who I REALLY am.
