Wendy Higgins has to be.....

One of the BEST authors ever. For the last two days I have been reading her books straight through. Of course I had already read Sweet Evil as well as Sweet Peril, but with Sweet Reckoning just being released, I wanted to read the whole series in order. So I started Sunday afternoon at around 2p.m. and just read as much as I could during nap times and after bed time. Heck I even read during feeding times with my 6 month old. That was probably the hardest time to actually read because my daughter has taken to grabbing anything shiny or bright, and needless to say my iPad is bright. But back yo the review. Since I have yet to do a review on any of the books by Wendy Higgins, I thought why not do all three! And they will be in order, but I will try to make them short so this doesn't take forever.

Sweet Evil 5*s!!
Embrace the Forbidden

What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?

This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.
Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

Ok so I absolutely freaking love this book. I love how sweet Anna is, and how she always tries to do the right thing. But in comes Kaiden Rowe and she is really put to the test. While Kaiden tries to fight his attraction for Anna, she just doesn't understand how dangerous her love for him can be. But when they set out in a cross country road trip together, there's no denying their feelings for each other. To slowly fall in love, but then get ripped apart because Kaiden realizes that Anna needs to stay pure in order to fight a holy war. There are a few set backs to her trying to get over him, but then Anna's life seems to be on the line and Kaiden can't hold back anymore. I love how this book ends with you just begging for the next one. Good thing I didn't have to wait this time to read Sweet Peril.

Sweet Peril 5*s!!
Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

This book was a great bridge book between the beginning and the end. You really see Anna grown more into herself in this story, and how she has to grow up and do the work expected of her even when she hates it. Probably one of my favorite parts though is when you finally see how Kaiden truly feels. But it's not without its drama either, as you see at least one of the love triangles brought to head in this book. Jealousies and tempers flare while bonds of friendship are tested and forged. You see how many of the characters feel while not making it too much of a teenage dramafest. (Yes I know it's geared towards teens, but I still love it. Don't judge me!)

Sweet Reckoning 5*s!!
It’s time.

Evil is running rampant and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the earth of the demons and their oppressive ways.

The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.

In the most sensual and fast-paced installment yet, Sweet Reckoning brings all the beloved Neph together one last time to fight for their freedom.

OMG!! I am in love with this book. While I am sad to see the trilogy come to an end, I do t think that there could have been a better ending for this series. Anna and her friends are under close watch again because the Dukes fear the prophecy is near to being fulfilled. While it's not all smiles and rainbows, Anna does have her share of good memories made during this book. And the scenes between her and Kaiden keep getting better. I didn't think it could get much better than the laundry room and kitchen scenes from Sweet Peril, but I was wrong. On a good note, they finally see the Grand Canyon! But Anna does face her share of loss and suffering when she faces the separation of her from some of those dearest to her.

If you want to get the full details from all three books, go pick them up at your local bookstore or online at Amazon or Barnes & Noble!
